Freedom is a precious commodity to value and fiercely protect. Our humanism and compassion are essential in our everyday interactions with people, animals, plants, Mother Earth, and ourselves, now more than ever! As German musician Nina Hagen says, “ We must change ourselves to change the world.” One of the strategies that we use in SoulCollage(R), is to make cards that represent all the different parts of ourselves. By learning to identify our Inner Committee, as we call it, we communicate with our personal sub-personalities, and then synchronize them to work as a team on our behalf. This technique of working with Committee Cards is life-altering and gives us tremendous freedom to change into our happy, best selves.
I hope that you enjoyed a good winter and are marveling at a burst of spring wherever you are. Here in Boston/Cape Cod, there are some glimpses of daffodils, which are thrilling; yet there is still a chill in my bones, which has me dreaming about a second summer adventure at Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine this August, with my co-creator and dear friend Deb Knox.
I can hardly believe how quickly time speeds up in the summer! May you savor every last minute of it, as I am! It is a magical time!
Magnifying our creative gifts, and we all have them, not just writers and artists, is our ticket to a successful life of creative expression in the 21st century. To allow yourself to dance with your creative excitements and inspirations to bring your unique brilliance to light, you must learn the art of self-focus, which means being invested in your dreams, and confronting your own fears and society's judgments that you are selfish or perhaps unfeminine when you take time to follow your fascinations and pursue your uniqueness.
